Answer:

$5.24

Explanation:

If a pound of sausage is $3.25, and Brad bought 1/2 a pound, he spent $1.63 on sausage.

If a pound of chicken is $2.50, and Brad bought 1 1/4 pounds, he spent $3.13 on chicken.

In order to find out how much money he has left, you have to subtract what he spent from $10.

He spent: $3.13 + $1.63 = $4.76

How much he has left: $10 - $4.76 = $5.24.

Let me know if I went into enough detail :)

Answer:

He will get back 5.25 in change

Explanation:

The cost for 1/2 lbs of sausage

Cost = rate * amount

= 3.25 * .5

=1.625

1 1/4 lbs of chicken

Cost = rate * amount

= 2.50 * 1.25

3.125

To total of his purchases is

1.625+3.125=

4.75

He has 10 dollars

10-4.75 = change back

5.25

He will get back 5.25 in change
