Sam ate 2 corn dogs and 5 caramel apples at the fair if corndogs cost $2.25 and caramel apples cost $0.95 cents a piece, what is the ratio of total cost of corn dogs to total cost of caramel apples? Write your answer in the form a:b, where a and b are whole numbers.

What you had to do was times them. So you times 2 by 2.25 because that is how much a corn dog cost and Sam bought 2. And you times 5 by .95 because that is how much a caramel apple cost and Sam bought 5. The 2 corndogs cost $4.50 and the caramel apples cost $4.75. You then put it into a ratio based off total cost of corn dogs to caramel apples and it is 4.5:4.75.
