It should be -4.5 because other numbers are either bigger than -4(4/5 and 4.5) or smaller than -5(-5.5). Only -4.25 fall under the interval/range of between -4 and -5.

Answer:

-4.25

Explanation:

All of these answer choices are rational numbers.

-5.5 is past -5, and not between -4 and -5.

-4.25 is between -4 and -5, so that looks like an obvious answer choice.

4/5 is 0.8, which is not close to -4 and -5. It is also a positive number which is definitely not between -4 and -5, which are negative numbers.

4.5 is not between -4 and -5 seeing as it is a positive number.

Therefore, looking at all of the answer choices, the final and correct answer is -4.25, or the second answer choice.
