PLEASE HELP!!

A bag contains the letters of the word PENNSYLVANIA. A letter is drawn, replaced, then another is drawn. What is the probability that the first letter is an N or A and the second letter has a vertical line of symmetry?

(Please make sure the probability answer is in fraction form! :))

Answer:

5/48

Explanation:

There are 12 letters in pennsylvania

P (n or a) = (number of n's and a's)/ total

There are 3 n's and 2 a's

P (n or a) = 5/12

P (Vertical symmetry) = letters with vertical symmetry/ total

Only V I and Y have vertical symmetry 3 letters

P ( vertical symmetry) = 3/12

Multiply the probabilities together

5/12 * 3/12 = 15/144 = 5/48
