✽ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~Hello There!~ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ✽

40 = 1.8c + 32

Subtract 32 from both sides:

8 = 1.8c

Divide both sides by 1.8:

c = 4.4

Hope This Helps You!

Good Luck (:

Hey there!

\bold{40=1.8c+32}

  • Flip the equation around

  • \bold{1.3c+32=40}
  • What is the opposite of
    \bold{addition}? The answer to the equation I just asked is:
    \bold{subtraction}. So, we have to
    \bold{subtract} by
    \bold{32} on each of your sides

  • \bold{1.3c+32-32=40-32}

  • \bold{Cancel:32-32} because it gives us the result of
    \bold{0}

  • \bold{Keep:40-32} because it helps us solve for the value of
    \bold{c}

  • \bold{Equation:1.3c=8}
  • What is the opposite of
    \bold{multiplication}? The answer to question I asked (again) is
    \bold{division}. So, we have to
    \bold{divde} by
    \bold{1.3} on each of your sides

  • \bold{(1.3c)/(1.3)=(8)/(1.3)}

  • \bold{Cancel:(1.3c)/(1.3)}

  • \bold{Keep:(8)/(1.3)}

  • \bold{Solve} the kept option in the
    \bold{division} portion

  • \boxed{\boxed{\bold{Answer:c=4.4\overline{4}}}}

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
