Gus has a fish tank that holds 4710 inches cubed of water. He is using a cylinder shaped bucket with a radius of 5 inches and a height of 20 inches to fill the tank. How many times will Gus need to fill the bucket to completely fill the fish tank if he doesn't spill a drop

For a cylinder, V=pi x r^2 x h
So the volume of the cylinder is about v = 3.14(5^2)20 = 1570 cubic inches.
Divide 4710 by that number and the answer I’d that Gus has to fill the bucket 3 times

Answer:

Hence, the number of times will Gus need to fill the bucket to completely fill the fish tank if he doesn't spill a drop is:

3 times

Explanation:

The amount of water that a tank can hold is: 4710 inches cube.

This means that the volume of tank is: 4710 cubic inches.

Also, the bucket is in the shape of a cylinder with radius 5 inches and height 20 inches.

This means that the Volume of bucket is given by:

Volume=\pi r^2h

where r denotes radius and h denotes height.

Hence, Volume of bucket is:

Volume=\pi* (5)^2* 20\\\\\\Volume=3.14* 25* 20\\\\\\Volume=1570\ cubic\ inches

Let n be the number of times Gus need to fill the bucket to completely fill the fish tank

Hence, we have:

Volume of fish tank= n × Volume of Bucket

i.e.
4710=n* 1570\\\\i.e.\\\\n=(4710)/(1570)\\\\n=3

Hence, the answer is:

3
