Increasing the side lengths of a triangle by 100% in order to create a similar triangle, increases the area by 100% as well.

Lets take an example triangle. The height is 4 and the base is 6. The area of this triangle is: 4x6=24, 24/2=12. Since increasing it by 100% is the same as doubling we get a height of 8 and a base of 12. Now we find the area of our new triangle: 8x12=96, 96/2=48. 48 is not 12 increased by 100% so this is false.
