Answer:

x² + 8x - 20

Explanation:

Note that you are multiplying f(x) & g(x) together. Plug in 5x - 10 for f, and (1/5)x + 2 for g.

(5x - 10)(1/5x + 2)

Do FOIL. FOIL stands for First, Outside, Inside, Last

(5x)(1/5x) = 1x² = x²

(5x)(2) = 10x

(-10)(1/5x) = (-10/5)x = -2x

(-10)(2) = -20

Simplify. Combine like terms.

x² + 10x - 2x - 20 = x² + (10x - 2x) - 20 = x² + 8x - 20

x² + 8x - 20 is your answer.

Answer:

x^2 +8x-20

Explanation:

f(x) =5x-10 qnd g(x) = 1/5 x+2

f*g = ( 5x-10)( 1/5 x+2)

FOIL

first: 5x*1/5x = x^2

outer: 5x*2 = 10x

inner: -10*1/5x = -2x

last: -10*2 = -20

Add them together = x^2 +10x -2x -20

x^2 +8x-20
