What are complementary angles?
Complementary angles are a pair of angles that equal 90°, or make up a right triangle.
Examples
- Two angles that are 45° make a complement because 45 + 45 is equal to 90.
- A 10° angle and an 80° angle make a complement because 80 + 10 is equal to 90.
- A 35° angle and a 55° angle make up a complement because 35 + 55 is equal to 90.
