Area of trapezoid = 1/2(16 + 30(12)

= 1/2(46)(12)

= 276

Two trapezoids are similar

The area of a trapeziod is found by adding the top and bottom dimensions together, dividing that by 2, then multiplying by the height.

The top half of the window is: 16 +30 = 46/2 = 23 x 276 square inches.

The top and bottom are the same.

Total area = 276 + 276 = 552 in^2
