several hours he finished ¾ of it. How many feet does he still need to
paint?

18.875 feet left, not sure if you need to round that or not

  • 18 7/8 feet

Explanation:

Total length of the wall to be painted = 75 1/2 feet

Already painted part = 3/4 of total length

Remaining part to be painted:

  • 1 - 3/4 = 1/4 of total length

Remaining part in feet:

  • 75 1/2 * 1/4 =
  • 151/2 * 1/4 =
  • 151/8 =
  • 18 7/8 feet
