Which linear function represents the line given by the point-slope equation y – 8 = (x – 4)? f(x) = 1/2x + 4 f(x) = 1/2x + 6 f(x) = 1/2x – 10 f(x) = 1/2x – 12

Answer:

Explanation:

You must have made a mistake

the point-slope equation y – 8 = 1/2 (x – 4)?

If so,res is f(x)=1/2 x+6

Answer:

y=(1)/(2) x+6

Explanation:

Point slope equation is given by

y-8=(1)/(2) (x-4)

To get equation of the line we need to get y alone

First we remove the parenthesis, multiply 1/2 inside the parenthesis

y-8=(1)/(2) x-2

To get y alone, eliminate -8 by adding 8 on both sides

y=(1)/(2) x-2+8

y=(1)/(2) x+6
