Boll weevil is a type of insect originated from Mexico that migrated to Georgia's territory in 1920s.

This insect feed on cotton buds and flowers. Since there are large portion of their food in Georgia, Boll weevil reproduced at a very fast rate. This caused a massive decline in Georgia's cotton industry.
