Step-by-step answer:

sqrt(27) = sqrt(9*3) = sqrt(9)*sqrt(3) = 3sqrt(3)

Step-by-step explanation: To simplify the square root of 27, first create a factor tree with 2 branches.

27 factors as 3 x 9 and 9 factors as 3 x 3.

Since we have a pair of 3's in our factor tree, a 3 can come out of the radical. Since there is another 3 that doesn't get paired up, it stays inside the radical which means the answer is
\sqrt[3]{3}.

I have also provided my work in the image attached.
