Change the mixed numbers to improper fractions.

4 2/3 = (12+2) / 3 = 14/3

8 4/7 =(56+4)/7 = 60 / 7

The area of the triangle = 1/2 * base * altitude

= 1/2 * 14/3 * 60/7

= 840 / 42

= 20 (answer).
