Multiply each of the three parts seperately (the middle rectangle and the two triangles on either side of it) Area of a rectangle is the base multiplied by height. the base is 7 and the height is 8 (7*8=56). Area of a triangle is half of the base multiplied by the height. The base is 4, half of the base would be 2 and the height is 8 (2*8=16). There are two of those triangles so multiply 16 by 2 to get 32. 56+32=88.
