Explanation:

The area of it > area rectangle + Area of the triangle (by the two curved part over the triangle

∵ Dimensions of the rectangles are 4 ft. and 2.5 ft.

∵ Dimensions of the triangle are 4 and 1.25

∴ Area = 4 × 2.5 + 1/2 (4)(1.25) = 10 + 2.5 = 12.5 ft²

If we find the area of the rectangle with dimensions 4 and 3.75 (2.5 + 1.25)

∴ The area of it < 4 × 3.75 = 15 ft.² (by the two curved parts)

∴ 12.5 < Area of it < 15

∵ The suitable answer is 13.5 ft.²
