I think the point k may be the centroid of the triangle, so that point would be 2/3 of the way from the vertex to the opposite side. If the ENTIRE length of AP is 18, then point K would be at the 2/3 x 18 = 12 mark. So if you're looking to find KP, it would be (18-12) = 6.
