If we go back in the process, crops need sunlight to grow and cheese comes from cow. Since cow is an animal and sunlight is equally important for both animals and plants. SO if we eat something it is indirectly dependent upon sunlight therefore whatever we eat it is energy from sun which is transferred into food in a very long process.
