Here are 3 mathematical terms used for x values:

  • The domain - since x values are a domain and y values are a range.
  • The variable - since a variable is a thing that changes, and, well, x values change based on what you input.
  • The independent factor - since the dependent factor depends on whatever the independent factor is, the x value can be anything and the result will change depending on whatever x value you have inputted, making it dependent.

I believe the word you are looking for is variable. variable is the word used when talking about a value of x in an equation.
