Answer: B) x ≈ 2.25

Explanation:

graph: y = -2ˣ + 3 and y = -3⁽⁻ˣ⁾ - 2 using any graphing tool (see attached).

The solution is the intersection of the graphs.

Notice that the solution is between x = 2.25 and x = 2.5, however it is closer to x = 2.25. The exact answer is x = 2.34
