hi im 29 yrs of age and just going back to school torecieve my hs diploma.i have 2 subjects left which is math and writing.im having a problem with adding fractions.one of the math problems are 3 1/7 + 6 4/7 i came up with 9 5/7 but im not sure this is correct

if u add the whole numbers first which is 3+6 which equals 9 and then u add 1/7 + 4/7 which will give you 5/7. So the whole answer will be what you said 9 5/7
