One should think of the Black Lives Movement as not having gained or lost momentum but rather shifted and possible matured.
The Black Lives Matter movement brought attention to the epidemic of police violence against black men. While they were not always successful in bringing cops to justice, they shifted perception around policing and have forced valuable conversations about systemic racism.
