After Martha ate 1/4 of the pie there is 3/4 left.

Edwin ate 1/4 of 3/4.

so multiply 1/4 and 3/4 ---> 1/4*3/4=3/16

to find the leftover subtract 3/16 from 3/4

3/4-3/16

12/16-3/16=9/16

Christina ate 1/3 of 9/16

multiply 1/3 by 9/16

1/3*9/16=3/16

find the leftover by subtracting 3/16 from 9/16

9/16-3/16=6/16

divide by 2

3/8

Answer:

\frac {3} {8}

Explanation:

Maria ate a quarter of a whole pie =
(1)/(4)

Left over pie =
1 - \frac {1} {4} = \frac {3} {4}

Edwin ate 1/3 of what was left =
\frac {1} {4} * \frac {3} {4} = \frac {3} {16}

Left over pie =
(3)/(4) - (3)/(16) =(9)/(16)

Cristina ate 1/3 of what was left =
(1)/(3)*(9)/(16)=(3)/(16)

Left over pie =
(9)/(16) - \frac {3} {16} = \frac {6} {16} = \frac {3} {8}
