Y + 6 = 3/2 ( x - 4 )

Distribute the 3/2

y+6 = 3/2x - 12/2

y+6 = 3/2x -6

Subtract 6 from each side

y+6-6 = 3/2x -6-6

y = 3/2x -12

Subtract 3/2x from each side

-3/2x +y = 3/2x-3/2x -12

-3/2x +y = -12

We want a positive x so multiply by -1

-1(-3/2x +y) = -1* -12

3/2x -y = 12
