y = 2x+8 ..... start with the first equation

2x+2 = 2x+8 .... replace y with 2x+2

2x+2-2x = 2x+8-2x .... subtract 2x from both sides

2 = 8 ... we end up with a false equation

Since the last equation is false, this means there are no solutions.

Answer: No solutions

this means the system is inconsistent. The graph would show two parallel lines that never intersect
