As the water of the sea evaporates due to heat from the sun, the atmosphere above the water becomes humid due to water vapor. Winds help move this air mass and bring in less saturated air. This increases the rate of evaporation above the sea water. The sea water becomes concentrated and the salts being to crystallize and precipitate.
