The Vietnam War was caused by the difference in opinions from North Vietnam and South Vietnam in regards to communism. The US Government's became an ally of South Vietnam in 'fear' of the Domino Effect. They feared that if one country fell to communism it was likely that they neighbouring one would also fall which is the reason the american government so kindly decided to take the matter into their own hands and took the war to a whole other level for the sake of what they believed was the best way.

The Vietnam War had a profound effect on American society as it changed the way we viewed our government, patriotism, the media and our constitutional rights. This war aside from millions of deaths left us with a sour taste as it raised awareness of how media play can really twist an event to the point of making us believe our government has everyone's best interest at heart while its the complete opposite.

Hope this helps!

Answer

Hi, a strong thesis in this topic could be;

The Vietnam War shaped Modern World History, though it was caused by the American passion to end communism which affected their social, economical and political lives.

Step-by-step explanation

The Thesis statement is a sentence that captures the main ideas reflected in a paper. It is normally one or two sentences that tell the readers what the paper is about and aids the writer in keeping the argument focused. In this case, the thesis can be developed by background information on the Vietnam War, two paragraphs on major causes of the war, two paragraphs on the major consequences of the war, three paragraphs on solutions to the war and lastly three paragraphs on importance of the war on modern world history.
