Explanation:

The associative property of multiplication goes thus :

(x * y) * z = x * (y * z)

The equation give in the question :

(9.5 x 9) + 1 = 9.5 * 10

The associative property cannot be used to rewrite the equation as claimed above.

Because, the equation includes both multiplication and addition functions. Hence, it has to be solved separately following tbe rule of BODMAS., THE sign preceeding 9 in the equation is multiplication and as such not mathematically correct to add such number to +1

To ascertain :

(9.5 x 9) + 1 = 86.5

9.5 * 10) = 95

Hence,

(9.5 x 9) + 1 ≠ 9.5 * 10
