It is unlikely that a person is born with concepts already formed. It is mre likely that our preferences are result of nurture, how we are socialized, as opposed to nature which is inborn and subject to biology.

Answer:

False

Step-by-step explanation:

When a baby is born, he or she has some genetic and even personality traits inherited from both parents and their parent's family, however, his or her concepts are not yet formed, as concepts are more of ideas, beliefs, thoughts, and notions that one can acquire from particular instances or circumstances and how we perceive them. Thus, when acquiring concepts, the environment and our own way of seeing things is utterly important.

For example, when we are kids, our concept of what is love, very often, starts to form by our mom and dad's actions and words, especially by what we unconsciously or consciously see of them. Do they teach us that when loving we need to forgive those who hurt us? do they teach us that love is taking care of someone else's needs above our own needs? or do they teach us that love is about achieving balance when giving and receiving? From what we experience, from what we see, and how we see it, we usually develop our own concepts without even noticing.
