The area of every rectangle in the world is
Area = (length) times (width) .
The same goes for the one in this picture.
Area = (15 inches) times (9.25 inches) .
When you do that multiplication and find the area of the whole rectangle, the area of each half of it is going to be half (1/2) of that number.
