The correct answer is - China's government remained unchanged.
The government of China was very brutal towards the peaceful protests on the Tiananmen Square. The protest's purpose was to bring in change in the country, to make it democracy, a market economy. The Communist Party though was not pleased at all with the protest, so in order to stop it from spreading around the country, they decided to brutally shut it down, with lot of people dying in the process.
Despite the reactions from all over the world, the Chinese government did not changed, nor felt any need to steer away from its ways. In fact, the Communist Party continued to rule the country, and they are still in charge of China in the present, and as it goes it seems that they will be for a very long time in the future too.
