Answer:

y= -2.8

x = 1.2

Step-by-step explanation:

y has been give so first substitute y into y

y=6x−10 and y=x−4

so x-4 = 6x-10

now get all the like terms on one side

it's best to keep the x as postive for easier methods so move the x to the rights side by subtracting x from the left side.

x-4 = 6x-10

- x

-4 = 6x - 10

now add 10 so x's are on one side and the numbers on the other

+ 10

-4 + 10 = 6x - x

now simplify

-4 + 10 = 6

6x - x = 5x

so

6 = 5x

divide by 5 to get X by itself, the value of x

x = 6/5 = 1.2

now we have the value of x we can substitute it to find the value of y.

y=x−4

x = 1.2

y= 1.2 - 4 =-2.8

y= -2.8

x = 1.2
