Answer:

x=2,y=3

Explanation:

First equation:
5x-7=y

Second equation:
-3x+12=2y

Put the first equation into the second one;

-3x+12=2(5x-7)

Expand;

-3x+12=10x-14

Group like terms;

12+14=10x+3x

26=13x

Divide both sides by 13

x=2

Put x=2 into the first equation;

5(2)-7=y

10-7=y

3=y

The solution is x=2,y=3
