Analytical Thesis Statement:

An analysis trial analyzes a problem. You are expected to define the subject as the author of this type of paper and then break down some aspect of the subject and evaluate it The subject to be analyzed and how it will be break down is indicated in the analysis thesis statement. The following example from the Purdue online writing lab is an analytical theory: "The students with the highest standards or students with a high level of extracurricular history are challenged to accept an analysis of the admission process" (The thesis shows the subject (the admission process of college) and how the subject is broken down and assessed (The Purdue Online Writing Lab)

Expository Thesis Statement:

You tell the audience a subject in an exhibition essay. The most important or significant elements of your subject must be decided and explained in the paper's heading. The statement of the exhibitory thesis lists the aspects of the topic that will be dealt with. This is the method used by John Hughes in his exposition thesis: "The films feature high school pupils from various lifestyles, the element of young romance and memorable sounds, which reinforce the subject of teen angst."
