For more difficult question, you have to use this way. the rule for arithmetic sequence is An=a1+d(n-1)

So all you have to do is replace the things.

So, you are looking for the 5th spot, the first term is -3, and the difference is 4, replace the n with the 5.

A5=-3+4(5-1)

5-1 is 4

4*4 =16

A5 =-3+16

16-3=13

A5=13

Do the same for A6 , just instead of the "5's" put "6's".

A6=-3+4(6-1)

6-1 +5

5*4 =20

20-3=17

A6 =17

Each time 4 is being added, so do 9+4=13, then 13+4=17.
