There are many ways on how life was different for families before and after the Industrial Revolution. Most people started off in the textile industry, but then moved on to things like the iron industry. Here are some before and after factors of the Industrial Revolution:
Life before the Industrial Revolution:
-Families had businesses in their homes
-Things were made by hand
-Materials were locally found (For clothing)
-Used wood to produce power
-Hard time getting around places
Before the Industrial Revolution, things that were made were mostly made in peoples homes, and was made by hand, which took forever. Families before the Industrial Revolution started in the textile industry (making clothes). In order for the families to make their stuff, they needed materials to make them, and they were locally farmed off of animals and things of that sort. They didn't have a way to make power, so they used wood to make power, just like they use wood to make fire for cooking. It was really stressful for them because there were many things that could be approved, but they didn't have the technology for it. Transportation was stressful for them too, they either walked or used horses to get around places, and going somewhere that is far away was very difficult.
Life after the Industrial Revolution:
-Things were easier to make
-Could produce mass quantities of items
-Transportation became easier because of the steam engine
-Caused low living qualities to people
After the Industrial Revolution, the textile and iron industry started get bigger and bigger. People started getting land and making big factories to improve their production. There were more opportunities for jobs, and there was a lot of profits going around in the businesses. Because they had factories, they started to use machines which made it more easier and faster to make things, which helped them out a lot. The problem of Transportation was fixed because of the invention of the steam engine, or train. The train made it a lot easier to get around the country and was more safer. The train allowed people to get more supplies to help the industry and made profit from it. Even though all these things helped the revolution out, there was a huge work labor during the time. Because of the industrial revolution, it caused a lot of poor living environments for workers, and they were exhausted since they work for long hours in assembly lines. Even though people suffered during the revolution, it improved the business industry.
