How does the education of Native Americans today compare to their education during the late 19th century and 20th century?

During the late 19th Century natives attended local schools within their communities which taught them classes cattering to their beliefs and needs in order to serve their community however nowadays these same schools are now heavily influenced by the government which means that the local natives no longer have the same amount of input as they used to therefore limiting the students knowledge, this is the reason why most natives now prefer to attend 'normal' schools (not run by the American Indian and Alaska Native Board).

Hope this helps!
