Answer: B. According to doctrine Reagan, the United States provided frank and secret assistance to anti-communist partisans and resistance movements to "lower the communist governments supported by the Soviet Union to the previous level" in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The doctrine was designed to reduce the Soviet influence in these regions as part of the complete strategy of the Cold War administration.

Answer: D.By the end of the nineteenth century, the "Jim Crow Laws", which had established a regime of racial segregation in that part of the country, had finally prevailed in the south. Part of that, partly poverty pushed blacks to move to other states. This "Great Migration" has resulted in a massive movement of African Americans from rural Southern states to industrial cities in the north and west of the country.
