Answer: Jacqueline has 8 marbles left.

Step-by-step explanation: Its pretty much just asking you how much marbles she has left if she lost 1/3. So you would find 1/3 of 12 which is 4(this is how much marbles she lost but you are trying to figure out how much she has left). So she started with 12, she lost 4, so 12-4 = 8. *To find 1/3 of 12 you can make boxes and demonstrate/shade 1/3 of 12 or you can just do 1/3 and 12/1 cross simplify which would be divided 3 by 3 and divided 12 by 3 so you would get 1/1 and 4/1 which when multiplied would be 4/1 which=4. Hope this helped!

First you have to find 1/3 of the marbles. That means in the twelve marvels she has, there are three even groups. Divide twelve by three and you get four. So if each group is four, it is simple from here on out. If she started out with twelve and she lost 1/3 of them(4) it would be 12-4. You know this because lost is another for for subtract. 12-4=8. She has 8 marbles left.
