Short way to solve system of equations by elimination

Answer:

To solve system of equation by elimination, check if the values of x or y are lined up and have the same value.

Or if the are not, take the numbers in x or y to multiply. Use the first to multiply the second equation and the second to multiply the first equation

Example is, for the first step which is in italic form is

2x + 3y =64...equation 1

2x - 6y = 75...equation 2

you can just eliminate for x by taking away equation 2 from equation 1

Or for step two which is in light form is

4x + 3y =64...equn 1

3x + 7y =80...equn2

to eliminate x, multiply equation 1 by 3 and equation 2 by 4

it will be 12x +12y =192

12x +28y =320

now you can solve.
