can someone explain the prime factor method to me? i know it is used for large numbers, but say there is a large number. say that number is, 1,260. how do i know the prime factors of this number to add to the factor tree?

A prime number is a natural number greater than 1 that cannot be formed by multiplying two smaller natural numbers. so for example, 21 is A prime number. no two whole numbers times themselves would equal 21. To figure out if a number is prime, divide it by 2. If you don't get a whole number, it is prime
