The Southern US colonies had different exports from those of New England, because their economy was based on different products, and the terrain & weather conditions permitted a certain type of product in one area, but not the other. New England's economy was based on fishing, factory products, and textiles, while the Southern colonies was based mostly in agriculture, cotton, & tobacco. This made the exports extremely different.
