In a sentence or two, explain what Erasmus meant when he said the following.

“The greatest danger to faith was following traditional teachings of the Church without understanding the teachings of Christ himself.”

Catholic church has characterized by holding the power and controlling people by taking advantage of them not knowing what in reality the word of God is. Is a danger to faith because people just follow the church and its tradition thinking they are doing well but in reality following God and knowing who Christ is and what he did for humanity is very different than following a doctrine that was even created by the man.
