Box:
Length = 6 feet
Width = 5 feet
Hight = 1.2 foot

Volume of the box = LxWxH
Box volume = 6x5x1.2 = 36 cubic feet
The Box holds 36 cubic feet of sand.

While Jodi bought 20 cubic feet of sand
Which means that Jodi is short by:
36 - 20 = 16 cubic feet.

Answer:

The sandbox can hold 36 cubic feet of sand .

He did not purchase enough sand to fill the sand box .

Explanation:

Given : The sandbox measures 6 feet 5 feet by 1.2 feet.

Jodi purchases 20 cubic feet of sand to fill the sandbox.

To Find: How much will the sandbox hold? did Jodi purchase enough sand to fill the sandbox?

Solution :

Since he built a rectangular sand box .

So, Formula of volume of cuboid =
Length * Width* Height

Volume of sandbox =
6* 5*1.2

=
36 ft^(3)

The sandbox can hold 36 cubic feet of sand .

Jodi purchases 20 cubic feet of sand to fill the sandbox.

So, he did not purchase enough sand to fill the sand box .

The amount of sand required more = 36-20

=16 cubic feet

Hence he did not purchase enough sand to fill the box . H e should purchase 16 cubic feet sand more to fill the box completely.
