Answer:

Explanation:

(W+7) equal length

W EQUALS WIDTH

So 2L+2W = perimeter = 58

Substitute length and we get

2(w+7)+ (2w) = 58

2w+14+ 2w = 58

4w+ 14 = 58

4w = 58-14 = 44

Divide each side by 4

4w/4 = 44/4

4/4=1 therefore x=11

Test answer

2(11+7) + 2(11) = perimeter

22+14+22= 58

The perimeter is the sum of the sides. Let's call the width length w so the length l is w+7

58 = w + w+7 + w + w+7 = 4w+14

44 = 4w

w = 11

l = w + 7 = 18

Answer: Length 18 width 11
