Answer:

b=21

Explanation:

Use the Pythagorean Theorem A²+B²+C²

Identify A, B, and C (This is where you can make a mistake, but remember the hypotenuse is the longest side and it is "C")

A=72, B?, C=75 So 72²+B²=75²

5185+ B²= 5625 (Subtract 5185 from both sides)

B²= 441 b=
√(441) \\

b= 21

Answer:

21

Explanation:

You can do it two different ways.

1st. Find the scale factor by dividing - 75/25=3 or 72/24=3

This means the scale factor is three

Then multiply the remaining side (7) by the scale factor (3) to get: 21

2nd. Use the Pythagorean Theorem - 75²-72²=x²

441 = x²

√441=x

x=21
