There are many differences between being tried as an adult and being tried as a juvenile. Firstly, if not let out on bail, an adult is kept in jail whereas a youth is kept in a detention center. For youths, a petition of complaint is filed before the hearing. The youth can prevent the hearing by admitting to the actions in the complaint. If a youth is found guilty, there is a disposition order where a judge determines the best course of action for rehabilitating the child. For adults, charges are brought and they face a jury of their peers. If the jury deems an adult to be guilty, he/she can be fined, put on probation, or sent to jail for more serious crimes. In contrast to the youth’s rehabilitation programs, these are forms of punishment.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!! :)

The big differences are that a juvenile is charged as a delinquent and has no right to a jury therefore is judge solely by the judge. Also while adults are charged and punished for their crimes, juveniles are usually put somewhere to rehabilitate.
