Africa has the resources and raw materials needed for Europeans: there are 64% of the world's cobalt, without which batteries for electric vehicles cannot be manufactured; Tantalum used in solar panels; Platinum, which is used to limit harmful emissions from automobiles. These raw materials are also of great interest to China – an economic competitor to the EU.
