We have to rearrange the equation so q is the independent variable.

Add 6 to both sides of an equation in [1] we have;


9q+2= 3r

Divide both sides by 3 we have;


(1)/(3)(9q+2) = r

or


r=(1)/(3)(9q+2)

where, q is the independent variable.

Therefore, the equation in which q is the independent variable is,
r =(1)/(3)(9q+2)
